Elaine Aird

Elaine Aird has been a resident of Beverley St Mary’s Ward since 1979 when she and her family moved here from Lancashire. Her son has attended both the local primary and secondary schools. In the 1970s she obtained a mathematics degree from the Open University.

I have been proud to represent the Beverley Rural ward since 2002 and have come to love the distinctive identities of the villages within the ward.These are difficult times for rural communities when maintaining essential services is becoming more and more of a challenge.

Walter Sweeney

Walter Sweeney is a solicitor and former Conservative M.P. He has lived in St. Mary's Ward for over twenty years. He and his wife Nuala, a consultant radiologist, have three daughters and run Newbegin House, which is Beverley's only five-star gold Bed & Breakfast.

Bradley Birmingham

To give you some background knowledge about myself, I was born in Yorkshire and have lived and worked in and around Cherry Burton for a number of years with my day to day working being part of our family business of residential care homes, caring for the local elderly community.

Peter Stevens

Peter Stevens was born in Beverley and has always lived in the town. He was educated at Walkergate Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School, Longcroft Secondary and Longcroft Sixth Form. He now works for the National Health Service.

Bernard Gateshill

Bernard Gateshill has lived in the area all his life and has been resident in Beverley for nearly twenty years. He is married with three, now adult children, two of whom also live in Beverley.

Pauline Greenwood

Pauline Greenwood was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire where she was educated and married. She moved to the East Riding in 1955. She had 4 children and farmed near South Cave for many years. She moved to Cherry Burton in 2001 to retire!!
