I have lived in the area all my life and moved to Hedon in 1985. I worked for the NHS locally for 43 years and am President of a local charity that has raised over £1m to support the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in the East Riding.

It has been an honour to serve as a Ward Member for South West Holderness over the last 4 years and to be in a position to ‘make a difference’ to the lives of local residents.

I have taken a keen interest in the provision of Health and Care Services locally as a member of the Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee with an aim to ensure residents receive the services they deserve.

I have served on the Children and Young People and the Safer and Stronger Scrutiny Committees helping to ensure the best educational opportunities are available to local children and a safer community in which to grow up.

I serve on the Eastern Area Planning Committee (which considers planning applications from areas to the east of Beverley) and the Strategic Planning Committee (considering larger developments across the East Riding) and also the South Holderness Internal Drainage Board.

Following a campaign with my fellow Ward Councillors, it was rewarding to witness the significant improvements to the Yorkshire Water Treatment Works and further investment is now underway to upgrade the inlet point to rid the area of the remaining intermittent odours. I aim to continue such work to protect South West Holderness.

I also aim to help preserve the rural character of the ward and resist over-development and coalescence of the area with Hull. My hobbies are my garden and walking/mountain climbing. Consequently I have a great love of the countryside, particularly East Yorkshire, and hope this can be preserved for future generations.
