David Tucker Wins South East Holderness By-Election

David Tucker won a hard fought by-election for the South East Holderness ward on the East Riding Council on Thursday August 4th. The by-election followed the resignation of Councillor Arthur Hodgson in June. 

David works within the NHS as a Staff Nurse in intensive care for Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals. He has also been a local Parish Councillor in South East Holderness. David said, “I feel privileged to be the local ward Councillor for South East Holderness.  As your Councillor, I will also show dedication and work hard to serve the ward and the constituency. This will ensure we are united in the delivery and improvements to services and continue to support investment and regeneration of the ward”.

The results of the election were as follows:

Tucker       (Conservative)            917   38.48% of the vote
Wilkinson   (Labour)                     806   33.82%
Weaver      (UKIP)                         390   16.37%
Edwards    (Independent)             173     7.26% 
Wright        (Lib Dem)                     97     4.07%
