Dramatic Fall in People Out of Work

On Wednesday 18th October the Office for National Statistics (ONS) published new figures highlighting how the Conservative government is getting more people into work, with unemployment at its lowest level in over four decades. 

Adoption of Conservative General Election Candidate

In accordance with the rules of the Conservative Party the Executive Council of the Beverley & Holderness Conservative Association met on April 20th to vote for a candidate in the forthcoming General Election on June 8th. Mr Graham Stuart was elected unanimously.

Sixteen members of the Beverley & Holderness Association Executive Council visited No 10 Downing Street on Monday 21st November to attend a reception for Yorkshire Conservatives.

St Mary’s Ward By-election for East Riding of Yorkshire Council

A General Meeting of the Association’s Beverley & Rural Branch was held on Tuesday 20th September to select a candidate for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council by-election in St Mary’s Ward. The by-election had been caused by the very sad and untimely death of Councillor Irene Charis.

Councillor Irene Charis Laid to Rest

The large chapel at Chanterlands Crematorium in Hull was the unexpected scene on Thursday 1st September for a vigorous and moving celebration of the life of East Riding Councillor Irene Amanda Grace Charis. Irene was a member of the Revive Church and the celebration was led by the Pastor Rev.

David Tucker Wins South East Holderness By-Election

David Tucker won a hard fought by-election for the South East Holderness ward on the East Riding Council on Thursday August 4th. The by-election followed the resignation of Councillor Arthur Hodgson in June. 

New Beverley Southern Relief Road Opened

Yesterday, Graham Stuart joined Under Secretary of State for Transport, Robert Goodwill MP formally to open the Beverley Southern Relief Road. This is a great day for the residents of Beverley.
